This pilot equipment is designed for the encapsulation of micro-organisms and other compounds (fragrances, drugs, enzymes, salts, ...) into various natural or synthetic polymer matrices.
The product is homogeneously mixed together with the polymer solution. This mixture is then extruded trough the nozzle with a known diameter to form a laminar jet. This jet is cut into cylinders that turn into spheres due to the surface tension of the viscous liquid. Spheres are finally falling into the collection bath where they polymerize/gelify.
