MICROMERITICS TPD/TPR 2900
This multipurpose device and its data acquisition software allow:
1) measures of temperature programmed desorption, reduction or oxidation. The amounts either of the compounds released during the desorption or reducing/oxidizing agent consumed as a function of the temperature are detected by a TCD (thermal conductivity detector);
2) measures of specific surface area of solids (even highly microporous) by adsorption of nitrogen at the temperature of liquid nitrogen. These measurements are based on a simplification of the BET isotherm, allowing the determination of the monolayer volume (and thus the surface area of the sample) by the measure of the adsorbed nitrogen quantity at only one relative pressure ('single-point' BET);
3) measures of metallic dispersion (see Micromeritics Pulse Chemisorb 2700).
