Bioaugmentation: the biological solution for pollutant treatment
Bioaugmentation is a branch of bioremediation that aims to treat pollution by inoculating specific strains into the polluted medium. These strains can be indigenous and isolated in situ, or allochthonous and specifically selected for a particular metabolism that promotes pollution treatment.
Our laboratory provides you with its expertise and equipment at every stage of a bioaugmentation process:
- Isolation and selection: Identification of the most suitable microorganisms for the situation and the pollution encountered (hydrocarbons, solvents, organic compounds, mineral compounds, etc.).
- Biodegradation study: Laboratory evaluation of pollutant degradation kinetics under simulated real-world conditions and/or optimal conditions (nutrients, oxygenation, pH, BOD-COD).
- Biomass production: Propagation and stabilization of selected strains for in-situ implementation through our fermentation expertise.
From the laboratory to the industrial site: our support and pilot equipment
Thanks to our expertise, we evaluate the most suitable microorganism or microbial consortium for your specific situation and the pollution encountered. Since every pollution case is unique, we offer to evaluate the effectiveness of the selected microorganisms through small and medium-scale trials. Finally, we also offer the production and stabilization of micro –organisms within our pilot facilities (up to 200 L), to enable their use on-site.
